PROGRESSIVE CONSERVATIVE PARTY LEADER TIM HUDAK MEETS WITH BARRIE CONSTRUCTION ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 

On Thursday, August 5th, 2010 Progressive Conservative Party Leader Tim Hudak met with the Board of Directors of the Barrie Construction Association at their offices on Victoria Street in Barrie.

Discussions surrounded issues facing the ICI Sector in the Barrie area. These issues included Bill 119 which amends the Workplace Safety Insurance Act to extend premiums to owners of companies, the needed reform of the Construction Lien Act to protect the subcontractor's lien rights and the timely release of holdbacks.

PC Leader Hudak is preparing his platform for next years election and was interested to learn what challenges the ICI sector in Barrie is facing.

Other issues discussed were the unfunded liablilty of the WSIB, named insured, Ministry of Labour, infrastructure spending, apprenticeship ratios, the aging workforce and union card certification.
